
“While the number of active listings continues to rise, there are still 20 percent fewer homes available for sale right now than we had prior to the onset of the pandemic,” said KAR president Jon Fort with Arc Real Estate in Garden City.
May 2024 Market Highlights
- Home sales in Kansas fell by 1.0% in May 2024 compared to the same period last year. National sales fell with sales falling 2.8% over 2023.
- Home prices continue to increase across the state. The statewide average sale price in May was $322,264 a 2.7% increase compared to last year. Midwest prices rose 6.4% and US prices rose by 5.8%.
- Mortgage rates fell slightly. The national average commitment rate on 30-year conventional mortgage for the week ending June 21, 2024 was 6.87%. View Freddie Mac’s report.
