I am married with six awesome children. We are a blended family and we like to joke we are the modern-day "Brady Bunch" (3 boys/3 girls - and we named our robot vacuum, Alice ;-) ). Our kids' ages range from 27 to 10. I spent years as a dedicated wrestling mom to my two older sons, who have retired after wrestling in college. Super proud!
My husband and I are very active and always on the go. We are currently busy renovating our home - built in 1893! Fun stories...ask me sometime. I write a blog and the newest series is this renovation but admittedly, I am way behind since my broken leg.
I love gardening and landscaping, cooking and baking, up-cycling almost anything, volunteering, and spending time at my pasture with my goat herd. They are funny and cool! I enjoy most outdoor activities - golf, tennis, hiking, fishing, boating, hunting, basically- a reason to be outdoors.
I grew up in Topeka, Overbrook, and Manhattan. My husband grew up in Emporia. I have lived in Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, and Oklahoma, and have worked in every part of the United States with national and international clients.
I started as a Manufacturer Representative (Business to Business sales, if unfamiliar with the role), later as a National Account Manager for both manufacturers and service industry companies, and I had opportunities to work with various international companies, too. I have had some very exciting accounts over the years, like The Culinary Institute of America, Yankee Stadium (yes, that was pretty cool!!!), MTV Studios, The Juilliard School, Wells Fargo, Ellis Island, Sonic Drive-Ins, and so many more! I even met Dom DeLuise, Snoop Dog, Bobby Flay, and Trace Adkins at trade shows over the years :-) Lots and lots (and lots!) of travel, and even more stories - like any good salesperson, right?
I am so excited to be part of the KR Team as the Director of Member Engagement first and now the Senior Director of Association Services! I was planning a career in Real Estate but did not imagine I would find a role as fun and fulfilling as this one. I will have the opportunity to work with all of our members throughout the year. I am looking forward to it!
I have earned my CMP (Certified Meeting Planner) certification and working on my CAE and RCE certifications.
